The Polymers of Sustainability

Every seven years - and now with increasing frequency - Enel Distribuzione withdraws old-generation meters from the market to replace them with Smart Meters that are more effective from a circular economy perspective.

But what happens to the decommissioned meters? The most valuable materials, such as aluminum and copper, are sold thanks to their high intrinsic value, while the plastic components are selected, sieved, blended, and processed together with other materials.

THE POLYMERS OF SUSTAINABILITY – From Green Economy Magazine

Our PolHi - now a registered trademark - is produced from glass fiber–reinforced polycarbonate and has been chosen by Enel Distribuzione as the material used to manufacture its Green Open Meters, which are expected to enable the recovery of 15,000 tons of plastic material.

The new Enel Distribuzione meters will contain only 10–20% of virgin plastic and have been engineered to make the recovery and recycling of their components increasingly easy. After all, the life of plastic is virtually endless: it can be selected, ground, and “revamped” with new virgin material and chemical additives.

The Imagro Model

The Imagro business model, developed for both import and export operations, is unique in its kind.

In the case of import, Imagro purchases the goods approved by client industries for their production and, regardless of their nature - goods, raw materials, semi-finished products, machinery, vehicles, equipment, or plants - manages logistics while granting, when needed, special credit terms to buyers.

For export, Imagro develops tailored solutions for the financing of specific export operations through officially supported Export Credits.

Competing worldwide requires the ability to work efficiently with suppliers across the globe while minimizing lead times, inventories, and risks. This is especially critical because factors such as language, government regulations, cultural differences, and costs often make it difficult to identify and manage a global supplier network.

Imagro specializes in overcoming these barriers and in finding suppliers capable of offering a true competitive advantage.

An International Profile

Imagro operates in outsourcing, supply chain, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) across more than 30 countries through its various offices - Imagro China, Imagro USA LLC Barrington, Imagro International LLC Washington, Imagro Mexico, Imagro Polska - and through companies that are part of the Imagro Group, including Imagro UK, Logital, Italia Consult Chemicals, Ochi, IGC Romania, Imagro LM Egypt, ISCO, International Food Pivot, Sustainable Evolution, and Imagro TXF Suisse.
